Harmony Kingdom - Tiles
Picture Description Year Our Price
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Beaky's Beach Beaky's Beach - The pair of vultures at the bottom of this tile figurine is having a beach barbecue, referencing an early Harmony Kingdom figurine retired in 1995 entitled "Let's Do Lunch." On the spit is a New Zealand lamb, but they've already consumed its head, as seen under one of the vulture's talons. Behind them is a pair of elephant seals, the large male dwarfing the female, as they indulge in the "gut barging" mating ritual. Notice the ER markings on the swan's back, confirming its ownership by Queen Elizabeth II. Top left, a garden gnome, in keeping with the pond behind him, is fishing for something. By the look of the two shark fins circling about, it looks as though he might have found it. 1999 £18.95
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Bumbles Bridge

Bumble's Bridge - The lake from "Swing Time" cascades over this tile figurine, and it appears that the waters haven't calmed. Top left, a water boatman rows for his life at the sign of a shark fin, unaware of the hungry fish behind him. An orante Chinese bridge frames the center, but even here there's drama as a bee attempts to rescue his friend from the open-mouthed carp. Is Lord Byron inside his chrysanthemum plant-a-tarium, at the foot of the bridge?

1999 £18.95
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Cliff Hangers

Cliff Hangers - Notice the coyote at bottom left of this tile figurine, about to depress a TNT plunger. The wires lead off the tile and reappear on the right side, attached to dynamite below a roadrunner. The puffs of smoke on the canyon road are a clue to what happens next. Above the coyote on the mountainside is a cowardly lemming that prefers to climb rather than jump. To his right are two ibex, watching to see the outcome of the coyote/roadrunner encounter. A bald eagle with young and a bat wait for their mates to return from "Whirligig Rainbow." The legend "Kilroy was near. . .ly" was inscribed on the rock by a climber who ran out of luck at a critical stage. Between the two right-hand peaks is a cable car with passenger taking in the view. Climbing down from the peak is Rufus, heading off to his sunbathing paramour of the hour. .

1999 £18.95
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Dolphin Downs

Dolphin Downs - Three dolphins cavort with a beach ball in this tile figurine, as surfing Jonah narrowly escapes a whale's open mouth. To their right are flying fish with wing roundels and propellers in their noses, insignias of the RAF. A group of whirling gannets circle the area, making nuisances of themselves, as ever.

1999 £18.95
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Flamingo East Flamingo East - The central theme of this tile figurine is a pair of flamingos. One has managed to get himself all tied up in knots while his partner looks on bemused. To their right are two seals, out on a mission. Actually they are US Navy Seals. Both wear camouflage outfits and one has sergeant stripes. He looks more worried than usual as he's just discovered that the hand grenade he's balancing on the end of his snout has its safety pin removed by the other seal who planned to pierce her ear with it. In the water, drifting past, is a Portuguese man 'o war. On the rocks at top left is a pair of cormorants, one of whom is clutching a fish, ready to give it to the young nesting chick. Rufus appears balancing on a ledge with paws over ears in anticipation of the grenade going off. . 1999 £18.95
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Flume Lagoon

Flume Lagoon - The two bears at top left of this tile figurine are actually Lloyd investors. One carries a portfolio with "Lloyds Bears" written on it while the other rings a bell.Traditionally, Lloyds ring a bell in their offices whenever one of their insured ship sink. Below the bears is a kingfisher with dinner. Her nest is at top right. Next to the kingfisher are two beavers. One has a branch in her teeth as if to add to the dam already built. Her mate, wearing a hard hat, has taken a liking to the leg of a nearby Japanese crane, who looks down aghast. This must be a common misunderstanding as the other crane, seen drinking, has a bandaged leg. Floating close by is a message in a bottle. The lettering "SA" is the start of "Sarsons" vinegar. Notice the raccoons at bottom left. One swigs from a bottle of "6X" while the other attempts to pull a crab, putting up a good fight, out of the river. .

1999 £18.95
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Glacier Falls Glacier Falls - Mad Murphy holds a stein of lager on this tile figurine, while his penguin companion holds a sign reading "Alex," an homage to the old black and white war movie, "Ice Cold in Alex." To their right is a walrus with bandaged tusk that looks down in the mouth. The other has successfully caught a fish, whose mate is trying to pull him back into the water. Above the incongruous U-boat periscope sits a polar bear atop an ice flow, reminiscent of the pose struck in Fox's Mint advertisements. On her back sits a dodo that can't find his way back to his partner in "Mark of the Beast." He reads the London Undergroun in an attempt to find her. The bear on the left with wrap-around shades laughs at the expense of his pal who has a bird dropping on her back. 1999 £18.95
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Gourmet Gazebo

Gourmet Gazebo - Pastoral picnicking is the central theme of this tile figurine, but two tortoises disrupt the tranquility. One can be seen carrying off cup and saucer on his back. Notice "Eat Me" atop the cake, a reference to the Mad Hatter's tea party. In the gazebo, a woman with binoculars mysteriously stares outwards, while to her left, Martin Perry's dog Alfie dreams of lunch. Alfie surely has a palatial kennel. His residence at top left comes replete with TV aerial, bone and bowl. Another flower from Byron's home garden appears in the foreground.

1999 £18.95
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Heart of Darkness

Heart of Darkness - At bottom left on this tile figurine, a pair of rabbits can be seen holding up a lion at carrotpoint. One holds the loaded carrot in a menacing way while the other plugs her ears in anticipation of the bang. The lioness is distracted by a bad smell bubbling up from the river beside her. This has emanted from the hippo, whose mate, with mouth wide open, enjoys some dental work courtesy of a NHS flying doctor. On the riverbank in front of him is a pair of eyes. We don't know what they belong to, but follow them out into the water and they meet a set of nostrils. Notice the rhino spearing an apple with BG on her tusk. Could this have something to do with Bill Gates and Apple Computers? The other rhino has some incriminating rubber wear in a prominent place. We then come to the crocodiles at top left. Rufus is prizing apart the jaws of one of the crocs, an attempt to rescue his eaten friend. A fish pokes his head out in amazement at Rufus's strength.

1999 £18.95
Harmony Kingdom Tile - Love's Labours Love's Labours - This tile figurine pays tribute to D.H. Lawrence's "Lady Chatterley's Lover." As such, we've depicted an Edwardian Lady, a groundskeeper and a squirrel nestled in the suitor's cap on the bench. While their owners appear to be in love, the cat and pug are obvious enemies. Notice the tree, top right, that still bears price tag and bar code. The groundskeeper hasn't had time to place it in "Gourmet Gazebo." It might also make sense if we were to tell you that the woman with binoculars sitting inside that gazebo is M'Lady's disapproving chaperone. 1999 £18.95
